Ruben Rosario: In a sea of purple, I’ll be the guy wearing 49ers red and gold at tonight’s game

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 10:15:08 GMT

It still stings, though it’s been more than 35 years now. I’m talking here about what took place on Jan. 9, 1988, when the heavily favored San Francisco 49ers were upset by the underdog Minnesota Vikings, 34-26 in a divisional playoff game. The shocking loss — I still have a beef with then-Vikings QB Wade Wilson and top receiver Anthony Carter to this day — prevented what I solidly believe would have been a still-unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat by my Niners (the team led by Joe Montana would win back-to-back Super Bowls in 1989 and 1990). I won’t tell you here which team we knocked off those years in the playoffs to get to the promised land. Look it up.Oh. I hear you now, long-suffering Vikings fans. I have nothing to complain about. I root for a team that has won five Super Bowls and looks like they have another Purdy good chance, pun intended, this season to reach the Super Bowl again.Meanwhile, the Vikings lost four Super Bowls, have endured excruciatingly heartbreaking playof...

Specifically, Orkin studied new rodent treatments executed between Sept. 1, 2022, and Aug. 31, 2023, at both residential and commercial properties.Perhaps not surprisingly, Chicago was ranked as the No. 1 "rattiest" city for a ninth consecutive year.Rounding out the top five "rattiest" cities were Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C. and San Francisco — the usual suspects, as Orkin's previous reports have suggested. Colorado estimates $411 million in health insurance savings on individual market, but rates are still going up next year

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 10:15:08 GMT

Premiums for Coloradans who buy their insurance on the individual market will increase this year, but by a combined $411 million less than if the state hadn’t taken steps to rein them in, the Colorado Division of Insurance announced Monday. Some Coloradans buying coverage on the individual market could see additional savings on their out-of-pocket insurance costs. Next year, people earning up to 250% of the federal poverty line — $75,000 for a family of four — will qualify for lower deductibles and copays. Previously, the cutoff was 200% of the poverty line, or about $60,000 for four people. The funds to reduce out-of-pocket costs are available because the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services allowed Colorado to repurpose some of the money that it saved. When premiums go down, the federal government doesn’t have to pay out as much in tax credits to people buying on the individual marketplace. Most of the estimated 24% reduction from what premiums would have be...

Broncos OLB Baron Browning provides energy and aggression in season debut vs. Green Bay

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 10:15:08 GMT

Broncos’ Baron Browning might’ve had the first-game jitters. Or maybe he was just being the aggressive outside linebacker that he is.During the Green Bay Packers’ first drive of the second quarter, Browning — who made his season debut on Sunday — was called for defensive offsides. “I saw one second on the play clock and I was like, ‘I’m going to take my shot,’” he said.Six plays later, Browning was penalized again. This time for neutral zone infraction, but he didn’t care. In Denver’s 19-17 win over Green Bay, Browning, who missed six games due to recovery from a torn meniscus, didn’t want to be held back.“Shooters shoot. I’m going to take my shot,” Browning said. “You win some, you lose some. But I’m not going to change the way I play the game.”Browning’s impact in the pass rush was noticeable. He recorded a team-best four pressures with a pass rush win rate of 25% in 29 defensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. Inside linebacker Josey Jewell wished the team had Brown...
